Riverplex at Sandcastle hosted the Irish and Festa Italiana festival the past two weekends. Both festivals different in many ways, but both packed with tons of fun!
The Irish Festival was packed with fun entertainment, authentic irish food, children activities, irish marketplace and exciting musical acts. My personal favorite was the Irish dog tent- where you can see and learn about breeds that orginated in Ireland.
Festa Italiana was filled with lots of delicious Italian food as well as many local favorite musical acts. Italian gifts and clothing were on diplay and on sale for anyone wanting to support or sport their culture. Even though the weather was not in our favor on Friday and Saturday it was still a wonderful time. Everything was under tents. My favorite part of the festival was the gelato. Yum.
We have one more festival next weekend- the International taste of Pittsburgh. It will be a mixture of many different cultural food, entertainment and fun. Come on down and join us for the International Taste of Pittsburgh.

Happy New Year Everybody! Last year at this time, Tiki Niki was the mascot winner via the online vote. I remember watching the election results rolling in at midnight! here's looking forward to a Great 2009 Season at the Castle.

Hi all! Have been SOOOO busy between wrapping up summer sandcastle activities, fright night festivities and now the festive holiday season! We need to get the blog in a more recent environment. I didn't even know where to blog at! I was QUITE excited when my daughter got her mailing for renewing Lifeguard classes! Makes me want to pull out my swimsuit, towel and sandcastle pass to head to the boardwalk! I think it would be rather nice if we have a Merry Christmas/happy New Year blog thread so I can wish all my "fav's" down there good tidings! Special winks to "SM" from me, as well as Crowtoenail! Can't WAIT to start the season again!

Thanks for tuning in to the webcams. The windstorm that caused so much other damage in the area seemed to have been the last straw for the computer running the webcams. We are in the process of fixing this issue. Please bare with us!

Hey, Gold Tag's :)
Why do the web cams STOP updating once the park closes for the season....??
Being in California, it's nice for me to sit @ my desk, here at work and see the changes of the leaves...the snow in the winter......
There is always something goin' on @ the Castle.....keep the web cams on! :)
....please :)
