How much is parking?
Parking is $7 a day. A Season Parking Pass is available to Season Passholders and can be purchased online or at the park for $29.99.
Preferred Parking – Preferred Parking guarantees a spot right up front: It’s $12 per day or $7 per day if you have a season pass parking pass.
How can I pay for admission, food, and souvenirs?
Sandcastle accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express cards at any ticket entrance and most permanent food locations. Admission tickets, Season Passes and Cabanas are also available to purchase online. Once inside the park, there are ATMs located at Guest Relations.
Can I bring in my own food and drinks?
Guests may bring in snacks in sandwich size zip lock bags and unopened bottled water. Snacks must be portioned sized and drinks (water only) can be no larger than a 20 oz bottle. No glass or alcohol may be brought into the park. Food from outside establishments is not permitted. For your convenience, guests may keep their sandwich zip lock bags in a small cooler.
For any groups wishing to bring in a picnic, picnic tables are conveniently located outside of our park and guests may enter and exit as many times as they wish throughout the day. Please keep these items in your vehicle. Sandcastle has a wide selection of food to choose from; such as hamburgers, french fries, pizza, salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken, ice cream, soft drinks and funnel cakes. Food stands and outdoor seating areas are located throughout the park .
Do I still have to pay if I'm not going to get in the water?
Yes, an admission ticket is required to enter the park. Don't worry, besides the thrills and chills of the waterslides, there are less daring attractions like the Lazy River and Mushroom Pool. For guests with special needs, please visit our Guest Relations office upon your arrival. They will share which rides and attractions are appropriate for your abilities and will help you make the most of your visit.
Where can I get discount coupons?
Our major promotional partners include Giant Eagle and Pepsi. Please check Giant Eagle stores for coupons, and the sides of Pepsi cans for other special discount offers.
When is the best time to visit Sandcastle?
June is always a great time to visit us we are usually slower at the beginning of our season. If you visit in July or August, Tuesdays and Wednesday are traditionally slower. Also, be aware that crowds are quite weather dependent. We will be busier on hotter summer days.
What if I forget something at home?
If you forget something at home, please check our Gift Shop first! Our Boardwalk Gift Shop features Sandcastle logo merchandise along with beach towels, swim diapers, and sunscreen, just to name a few items.
Are there height requirements for any of the rides?
Yes. Most of our attractions have a height requirement to participate. These requirements can be found on the Attractions page of our website. The requirements are also on signs at the entrance of each ride.
Do you have life jackets and where can I get one?
Free life jackets are available at Mon-Tsunami Wave Pool. Life jackets are required for guests under 48" in the wave pool.
Where are the best places to go with a toddler?
Sandcastle offers two exclusive children's areas. The Tad Pool is a one and a half foot deep pool with two beginner slides, and Wet Willie's is a crazy water playground featuring several slides and water activities.
Do you allow smoking or alcoholic beverages?
No alcoholic beverages may be brought into the park. We have beer and other alcoholic beverages available at Sandbar. Sandcastle is a limited smoking facility; with two designated smoking areas for our guests. See a Sandcastle Team Member for details.
What if my party gets separated?
Please designate a specific meeting spot and/or check-in times for your group should anyone get separated. Sandcastle will not page separated parties.
Who should Lost Parents report to?
Should you become separated from your party, make arrangements to meet at Guest Services, located directly inside the Main Entrance. If you need assistance finding your child, please contact Guest Services, Public Safety or any Sandcastle Team Member.
What about water safety?
Sandcastle lifeguards must pass very rigorous training to become certified. In addition, our First Aid station is staffed with emergency medical technicians. Parents are urged to teach children safe water skills and read safety information located at the front of each attraction.
Where is the First Aid Station?
First Aid is located on the boardwalk in between the slide entrance and food stands. Please ask any Sandcastle Team Member for specific directions.
Is there shade?
There many shade areas located through out the park. Lounge chairs are available, on a first come, first serve basis or you may choose to rent a private cabana for the day. It is always a good idea to wear sunscreen at Sandcastle, whether in the shade or direct sun.
What about my eye glasses?
Eye glasses may be worn on some attractions with a head strap only. Please check the safety rating information at the front of each attraction for more information.
Do you have changing facilities?
There are several changing and shower facilities throughout the park. They are located near the wave pool, along the Boardwalk, and in Wet Willie's children's area.

Come on out to Sandcastle! Savvy guests know the crowds are light when there’s a threat of rain. The lines are short. Waits are minimal. Do what you want, when you want. And if the weather really does get ugly….
If pools and waterslides are closed due to inclement weather, and you have your ticket stub or receipt, you will be issued a FREE admission ticket (raincheck) good for a return visit. That means, you can come back for FREE. So even if the skies are gray – what have you got to lose?
If Sandcastle Management is forced to close all the pools and waterslides during any one operating day, a full price ticket will be issued for any guest that is exiting the park at that time with a receipt or ticket stub. Rain checks will only be issued up to 30 minutes after the attractions are reopened for anyone exiting the park for the day. Guests will be eligible for the offer only as they exit the park for the day and posses a receipt or ticket stub. NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. Season Passholders do not qualify for rain checks. Ticket will be valid for the year they are issued.
There have been some changes at Sandcastle including the removal of the hot tub and the docks.
Sandcastle is a limited smoking facility. Smoking is only permitted in two locations inside the park. See a Sandcastle team member for details.
Guests may bring in snacks in a small sandwich size zip lock bag and unopened bottled water. Snacks must be portioned sized and drinks can be no larger than a 20 oz bottle. No glass may be brought into the park. For your conveniences, guests may keep their small sandwich zip lock bags in a small cooler no bigger than an 8 quart personal cooler (10"x12"x9"). Sandcastle will not permit coolers larger than this.
For any groups wishing to bring large coolers or a picnic- picnic tables are conveniently located outside of our park and guests may enter and exit as many times as they wish throughout the day. Please keep these items in your vehicle.

Pets are not permitted on park grounds including the waterpark, parking lot and Riverplex unless the animal is a service or guide dog.
This attraction is fenced off with one entrance and exit. A lifeguard is stationed at the entrance to the wave pool measuring guests to ensure that anyone under 48" is given and properly fitted with a lifejacket. In the Wave Pool, all guests under 48" are REQUIRED to wear a lifejacket and be accompanied by an adult. We insist that parents keep their children within arms reach for their close supervision on all water activities. Lifejackets are available free of charge. When in doubt, wear a lifejacket!

The Park offers a variety of water-based activities for all ages and all swim levels. Height restrictions are posted for all attractions and enforced. We strongly recommend that Minors (under 18) be accompanied by an adult. Park does not assume any responsibility or liability for unattended minors. Only you know your own, your child's, or anyone you are supervising level of swimming skills. We strongly recommend all Guests under 48" or who are weak or non-swimmers wear Coast Guard approved lifejackets where appropriate. Life jackets are available free of charge. When in doubt, wear a life jacket!
Proper swimwear must be worn on all rides and attractions.
No street clothes and no bathing attire with buckles, belts, rivets, metal or cut-off jeans permitted. For guest safety, no masks, snorkels or swim fins please.
VIRGINIA GRAEME BAKER POOL AND SPA SAFETY ACT - On December 19th 2008 the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act went into effect. This new law requires VGB Compliant Pool Drain Grates. We are VGB Compliant but please note in some applications these grates have a raised profile off the floor as mandated by the Law. Warning: Raised Grate - All of our raised grates have a red circle highlighting their location. They are designed to be stepped on but in shallow water situations they may pose a tripping hazard.
