Birthday FAQ

What hours can we utilize the Birthday Bungalow?
The Birthday Bungalow is available for 2 hours either 12- 2 pm or 3 – 5 pm. This allows the group to spend some time celebrating with the birthday guest. Guests are welcome to stay at the waterpark for the entire day and can even relocate to our group area if area is not reserved on that specific date.

Do I have to purchase/ reserve my party online?
Yes. We only take birthday reservations online to ensure that we do not double book.

What if I have more people I want to bring to my party?
Sandcastle offers additional person pricing for each package if you would like to add more than 10 people. If you do not know your exact count beyond 10 people now, you can call 412-461-3694 to add to your already reserved/ purchased party closer to your event (we ask that you make these changes at least 24 hours before your party).

What if it rains?
If the park does not open due to inclement weather, Sandcastle will reschedule the party for another day. If the park closes early due to inclement weather, all party guests will receive a rain check ticket to return another day. If the park closure occurs early in the day, Sandcastle will reschedule the Birthday Bungalow for another day as well.

Can I bring a cake for the birthday celebration?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a cake or cupcakes for the birthday celebration. We do not recommend bringing ice cream/ice cream cake as the Birthday Bungalow does not have freezer storage. Also, Sandcastle does not provide cake plates, utensils, or candles.

How does the Food Vouchers work?
Sandcastle East Eat and Treat Vouchers allow you to decide the best way to use/ distribute them according to your party needs. Each Voucher needs to be presented to the food stand (listed on the voucher) by party guests and redeemed for one of the many choices listed on the voucher. You can allow your guests to use them at their own convenience or require everyone to meet back at the room at a certain time to eat together.  *Please note: Food options are subject to change and based on availability the day of the event.

Can I bring outside food and beverages for the birthday celebration?
Meal vouchers are included with the Birthday Party Packages. Any outside food and beverage must comply with Sandcastle’s outside food and beverage policy. Treat bags and party favors are permitted.

Should I bring decorations?
Sandcastle provides table coverings, balloon center pieces, and beach themed decorations but guests are welcome to bring any special decorations for their celebration.

Does the Birthday Bungalow lock?
The doors close but do not lock. Guests can leave personal belongings, presents, etc. at their own discretion for the 2 hours they have reserved the room. If needed, lockers are available for rent next to the Birthday Bungalow. 

Does Sandcastle provide a team member to coordinate the party celebration?
A group sales coordinator will be available to meet with the group at the park entrance and escort them to the Birthday Bungalow and answer any questions. The coordinator will check in intermittently but will NOT be stationed in the room for the duration of the party.
